Our Mission: To enrich the lives of youth through the offering of nature, art, writing, farming, and conservation programs that embrace and utilize the unique natural physical environment and rich agricultural history of the North Fork of Long Island.
Our Vision: Turtleback Farm & Education Center continuously develops and carries out new programs designed to cultivate a generation of environmentally and culturally diverse individuals. Set on the beautiful North Fork of Long Island, our experiential learning opportunities and practices include use of:

Our Founder / Teacher: Jennifer Murray has a Masters Degree in Education and more than 25 years of teaching. In addition to being a former elementary and science teacher at Friends Academy in Locust Valley, her vast experience covers a wide range of subjects from Science (as environmental educator, classroom K-6 teacher, Montessori science teacher, outdoor education leader) to Sports & Physical Fitness (swimming instruction, running, archery, and fencing coaching). Jennifer has experience with program and curriculum development adhering to national and NYS standards. Most recently she has developed a successful outdoor education summer program for school-aged children, geared towards upper primary students, focusing on the Natural and Cultural History of the North Fork.
